We invite you to continue the only modern music festival in Lithuania, dedicated to site-specific music, which explores the connection between people, space and soundscapes – “MUZIKA ERDVĖJE”.
The third performance of the festival, “Hybrid”, is a performative sound installation, in which mechanical objects work in tandem with live music and create an organically changing soundscape. The work of Austrian artist Andreas Trobollowitsch reveals the association with M. K. Čiurlionis not through direct references, but through sharing a vision towards artistic expression by combining sound and visuals and taking inspiration from the soundscapes of nature and space.
“Andreas is a sound artist and composer with a unique way of thinking, whose work is eagerly awaited at festivals and concert series, representing the newest contemporary phenomena around the world. He’s an artist who is especially sensitive to his environment and his work is always tailored to a specific place and its parameters; and for this reason, it is a perfect fit in the context of the festival “Muzika erdvėje”. The composition’s connection to Čiurlionis reveals itself through visualization: five artists are performing in unison with dynamic sound installations, which are stunning both audibly and visually,” shares Marta Finkelštein, one of the festival’s artistic directors.
Joining this sound installation will be talented Lithuanian performers: Artūras Kažimėkas (clarinet), Linas Rupšlaukis (trumpet), Simonas Kaupinis (tuba), Monika Kiknadzė (viola), Donatas Butkevičius (double bass).
Following the sound installation will be Andreas, an Austrian multidisciplinary art composer, who creates conceptual compositions, art performances, sound installations and creative workshops. Andreas possesses a special sensitivity for spatial context, which often becomes a part of his compositions, and his innovative expression formats are always fascinating. The workshop is for everyone who is interested in the art of sound, site-specific compositions, installations and original artists.
